RECENT STATISTICS ON AUTISM ARE ALARMING, BUT TWO PARENTS AND A NEW BOOK OFFER HOPE!
Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism 2010-2011
By Ken Siri and Tony Lyons
Introduction by Dr. Mark Freilich
Afterword by Teri Arranga, Director, AutismOne
About 1 out of every 110 children has an autism spectrum disorder according to the latest CDC data. Between 2002 and 2006, the prevalence increased by an average of 57 percent! It is estimated that nearly one million Americans have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Parents raising these children often feel like they face more questions than answers. While little is understood about autism, parents rely on behavioral therapies to improve their child’s quality of life and encourage independence.
Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism 2010-2011 contains contributions from more than eighty experts on a variety of therapies, models, and multifaceted evaluation and treatment centers. Each contributor gives the reader a basic description of the topic, including its scientific rationale, development, risks, and benefits. Contributions include:
Dr. James B. Adams on chelation
Ms. Jenifer Clark on ABA and the future
Ms. Dorinne Davis on sound therapies
Dr. Lester Grinspoon on marijuana
Dr. Arthur Krigsman on GI disease
Dr. James Neubrander on MB12 and HBOT
Dr. Frank Morales on stem cells
Dr. Harry Schneider on restoring language
Dr. Gil Tippy on DIR®/Floortime™
and many, many more!
April is Autism Awareness Month. This is a great new tool to help everyone coping with the challenges of raising an autistic child.
